Coach Jim Malone & Baseball Strength Academy

Jim Malone, owner of Baseball Strength Academy, has been at the forefront of innovation in Strength and Conditioning and achieving high-end athletic performance for the past three decades while overseeing departments in Major League Baseball and the NCAA’s Southeastern Conference, Ivy League & Big South. 


Jim has served as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with the New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres, Coordinator for the Cleveland Guardians, Kansas City Royals Royals and St. Louis Cardinals and has coached five Hall of Famers, three Cy Young winners, seven current MLB Managers and countless All-Stars. Jim's most recent experience was with the University of Georgia baseball team as Senior Associate Director of Athletic Performance, coaching SEC Freshman of the Year, Charlie Condon.

 

Recognized as a leader and contributor to the growth of performance training in baseball, Jim's accomplishments are as follows:

He led his MLB peers for six years as President of the Professional Baseball Strength & Conditioning Coaches Society (PBSCCS), served on both the Medical Advisory Committee & the Strength & Conditioning Advisory Committee for the Commissioner's Office of MLB, was selected the 2012 MLB Strength Coach of the Year and represented the National League at the 2013 All-Star Game.

Currently, Jim serves as a consultant to both MLB and USA Baseball, assisting in the vetting of potential draft picks and international signees as a lead performance specialist for the MLB Draft Combine providing data to all 30 clubs.


He is a sought-after presenter at events, including multiple MLB Winter Meetings, and the National Strength & Conditioning Association’s annual National Coaches Conference.

 

He understands long term athletic development, teamwork, motivation, discipline, determination and winning in a both the team environment and individually.
