Over the last decade, we've worked with over 200 NHL-drafted players and thousands of minor hockey players to help them improve their game. Of course, we'd love it if every player could come to spend their summer with us, but we've created our Remote Off-Season Program for those who can't. Unlike most remote options that provide you with a random PDF file and some awkward hyperlinks to outdated YouTube, we've created a program that is housed inside a convenient app with the ability to communicate with your GRP coach throughout the entire program. That's right! An actual Gary Roberts coach writes your program, monitors your sessions, and responds to your questions.
The last thing we wanted was to follow the crowd. When we launched our remote program, it was with players in mind - after all, we've all competed at a high level - and what would make them successful.
Most remote hockey training programs involve a generic PDF program that you have to print off and bring with you to the gym, along with a pen and clipboard to record your weights into a tiny square that's barely big enough. If you're unsure how to do an exercise, you have to open an email, find the pdf, and link a hyperlink to an obscure YouTube video. If you have a question, it's another email to an info@ account that may or may not get a reply. It usually leads to frustration, and commitment can fade.
Instead, we leverage a platform called BridgeAthletic to house and deliver all of our exercises and programs. Every exercise comes with a video and coaches cues and you track your weights directly inside the training app. You're also able to make notes or film yourself in the app so that your coach can review your form and loads. Feedback helps us to better refine your future program phases!
To ensure you can get your questions answered, we hold office hours every day from 3 to 4:30 p.m. EST, during which a GRP Coach personally reviews every question.
Here are the steps to follow:
After that point will use the test results and your intake form to get started on your program. Please allow 72 hours for us to get everything together, we do it on an individual basis so it isn't instantaneous.

"I was 27 years old struggling after a tough spine injury and other related issues. Didn’t really know what to do, I was thinking about retiring early. I gave it one more try with the GRP team. Best decision I’ve ever made. I feel to be in a better shape now that I’m 32 years old then pre-injury. I was able to compete at the highest level playing in KHL for some years and also play a big role in winning a championship in the czech Extraliga. Not only I found what I was looking for but also met some great people along the way that i can call friends and I can count on when things don’t go my way." - A. Nestrasil (NHL/KHL Veteran)
